Week 2

Hey family and friends!
This week has been so great! I have gone through a few struggles, but have grown so much! My 2 companions, Sister Vang and Sister Jensen, are all getting along quite well now and I am learning to just love them and work together. We have done a lot of role playing and teaching progressive investigators. Things have not been too easy with that because a lot of the times I feel that I don't know the doctrine very well and I can't get my words out when I speak, but my teachers have all been so helpful and supportive. They have helped me to really listen to the Holy Ghost and the let the spirit teach more than me. I know that I need to put my trust in the Lord more. My teachers keep telling my that I need to stop beating myself up and be confident in what I feel to say. Well they are right! One of our last role plays went very well and we were able to commit someone to baptism...it wasn't a real investigator, it was just our teacher, but she shared with us that the spirit was there and we did so well. That really boosted my confidence and I don't feel as scared anymore...I am more pumped! The teachers we had were Sister Taylor and brother Lisonbee and I must say they were the best. We happen to be both their last class they will teach so that was pretty special.
Easter at the MTC was amazing...Cody you are going to be super jealous haha So for Christmas and Easter they always have a special guest to speak at a combined sacrament. Usually it is someone from the 70 or sometimes an apostle...it is so rare to have one from the first presidency and I guess the prophet never comes. We were all curious to know who it would be, but we weren't getting our hopes up. As we walked to sacrament and sat down, we all starting to sing hymns and such. Then everybody stood up and long and behold Pres. Uchtdolf walks in. SWEET! He taught us about being a bold missionary, just what we all needed. Afterwards as he walked out, he went up and down a few aisles and shook a few hands. One happened to be one of the elders in my district from Canada (Yes Dad, Canada :) haha but he is from Alberta) Then Pres. Uchtdorf walked out and we all were in aw. After that we had a sunday walk to the temple so we headed up to the enterence to meet with the rest of our district. I am guessing it was one of the security guards, but a guy came up to us and told us that Pres. Uchtdorf would be coming up that way and that we shouldn't run up to him or anything unless he comes up to you. There is in elder in my district from Guiana in South America that really was hoping he would get to shake his hand so he started getting all excited, but we had to keep him calmed down. Pres. Uchtdorf walked pasted us and we waved to him and said hi and then he stopped and walked over to Elder Lovell (from Guiana) He asked him where he was from and where he was going. Elder Lovell was speechless, but it was just so cool to see him dream come true. Pres. Uchtdorf shook his hand and gave him a great big HUG! Amazing right?! and my companions and I were like 2 feet away from it all! It was such a great experience and even though I didn't get to shake his hand I could really feel the spirit and I was so happy for Elder Lovell. Then the rest of the day the elders wouldn't stop talking about it haha it was pretty funny.
It was a great ending of our time at the MTC and I am so excited to fly to Wisconsin. We all "get" to be at the travel building at 2:30 am yay! and then our flight is at 6 am and I think we will get to Wisconsin sometime in the afternoon around 1:00pm their time. So tomorrow will be a big day! We still all can't decide if sleeping is worth it since we need to pack and by the time we will be done we will have maybe 1 hour to sleep haha so I guess we will figure it out. Anyways I hope you all are doing well. Thank you so much for all the letters and packages! So appreciated! My district wonders who I get letters from all the time and almost everyday haha I try not to brag but I know I am really really loved! I love you all and I hope your week goes well! :) Be good member missionaries hehe

Week 1

Dear family and friends!
I made it to my almost 1st week at the MTC! haha I still feel like I am in a dream and this is still not all real. I have learned a lot and have gained a lot of confidence in teaching and talking to people. I have 2 companions and it's pretty interesting. It is a challenge for me though. I struggle getting along with one of my companions because we are totally the opposite of each other, so that is probably the hardest for me right now. How is everyone doing?! I miss you all and can't wait to get letters from you all :) *hint hint* Cody has already beat you all to it! haha Love you lots. sorry I must go!

Love Sister Emily Sarah Eaton :)

Ps my sister has set up a blog for me and she will be putting my letters up there so you might get an email about the blog.
